ST. GEORGE ORTHODOX CHURCH
Altoona, Pennsylvania
814-944-7187

Looking for a Christ-Centered Church?

Looking for more depth?

Looking for worship that isn't "fluffy", me centered and focused on feelings? Want to see how it has always been done?

We're not Jewish...but we are Orthodox!
We're not Roman...but we are Catholic!
We're not Protestants...but their Bible came from us!
We're not Denominational...because we are Pre-Denominational!

Get to know the Original, get to know the Orthodox!
The oldest Christian body in the world.

We will never:
make you stand and introduce yourself
make you listen to "Christian rock music" in church
entertain you in church
ask your kids to worship in another room
have a sermon longer than 20 minutes
be political
change to fit the culture
try to please everyone

St. George Orthodox Church in Altoona welcomes all.  Our parish is a part of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese which is a self-ruling archdiocese of North America that is still connected to the Ancient Patriarchal See of Antioch.

Founded in 1918, St. George has served Altoona and the surrounding area for 90 years.

The parish is served by the Very Rev. Fr. Stephen Lourie.
